Biography

4th year PhD student at BSC and UPC with successful collaborations both from industry (Arm) and academia (UCSB, HM) Different papers at international conferences and participated in EU projects Main author of the seminal article introducing DHL accepted at the premier Computer Architecture conference (ISCA 2024)• Obtained competitive grants (>100K€), 2nd Prize in “PhD Thesis in 4 min” contest, participated in competitive summer programs by Google (GSoC), many (>15) international hackathons, and in the most prestigious startup program for undergrads in Spain led by Santander Bank (“Yuzz”)

Project Summary

Revolutionize data movement in data centres with Data Centre Hyperloop (DHL) Massive emerging datasets are moved via magnetic levitation in low-pressure tubes using commodity SSDs. We obtain faster transmission times (646x) with less energy (376x) of emerging massive datasets (for AI, Big Data, Genomics) in the data centre.

Key Result

We are working on the next evolution of DHL to reach 1000x improvement over fibre optic. We believe we can rearchitect the SSD design to make it lighter.
