Project Summary

The pilot project aims to create an exploratory knowledge hub in future responsible AI (RAI) as a model for other AI centers across Europe and North America and allows them to join. The NGI project facilitates long-term collaboration between top AI experts with different backgrounds.

The project proposes that strategic foresight research should be considered a vital opportunity for advancing developments in RAI. Reviewing academic literature reveals a gap in scientific rigor and high-ranked publications dedicated to comprehensively understanding and navigating the complexities of RAI development by strategic foresight research. Thus, the project also undertakes to meet significant challenges presented in effectively exploring and applying potential research methods.

Key Result

The anticipated outcome is establishing the first RAI knowledge hub developed by academic justification. This hub is dedicated to disseminating findings produced by academic research and collaborating with business and public policymakers. The application emphasizes exploratory research using strategic foresight, which supports proactive planning and decision-making. These methods ensure that AI technologies are aligned with long-term human-centric goals and ethical standards. The midterm, work-in-progress results are the first review of the academic literature review, the identification of relevant experts, and the preparation phase of the detailed research design and ethics.
